ARTS 4335 - Painting IV Special TopicsUG Credit Hours: 3
Designed to give students a thorough knowledge of the procedures in depicting form, volume, the illusion of space and depth, and the behavior of color, value, and texture under controlled studio lighting, painting from a model and through painting on location. Emphasis is placed on a strong composition, emotional impact, communication of ideas, creating a mood, capturing a likeness, and the congruity of technique. Various painting media will be explored. This course may be repeated as topics change.
Prerequisites: ARTS 1310 and ARTS 2310 or permission of instructor. Suggested prerequisite is ARTS 3310 or ARTS 3320 (life drawing). Lecture Hours: 3 Lab Hours: 0
