ARTS 1313 - Basic PotteryUG Credit Hours: 3
Fulfills general education requirement for fine arts. Required for BFA, BA, and minor in Art. The study of line, form, space, texture, and the art principles applied to ceramics. An introduction to ceramic processes and personal self-expression, to include image based lecture, slides, field trips, demonstrations, and studio work. Students will evaluate their art and research and respond to, historic and contemporary works of art made using ceramics. Basic techniques in the use of clay, including hand-building, throwing on the potter’s wheel, glazing and firing, will be covered.
