ARTS 3305 - Graphic Design DisruptionUG Credit Hours: 3
In this course, we delve into the profound question of how designers can respond, think, and create for a more equitable future. We challenge the status quo by intentionally breaking established habits, structures, tools, methods, and modes of thought that have become revered as the norm in Graphic Design.
Through collaborative experimentation and thoughtful reflection, we explore diverse possibilities and pluralistic approaches to design. Analog and digital outcomes become our canvas as we engage with prompts that encompass forms, images, stories, languages, publications, and even the unknown and emergent. We critically consider the narratives embedded within our work, recognizing the impact they have on ourselves, our communities, and society at large. By embracing this transformative process, we have the power to joyfully reshape how we engage as human beings and effect positive change.
